Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me

Last week, a big newspaper reached out and asked me to write an op-ed about papal politics. After writing it, they ghosted me, so I published it on my Substack.

Pope Francis continues to alienate American traditionalists

Okay, not a big deal, whatever. I moved on.

A few days later, they contacted me a second time, asking me to write a second article, this time about mask mandates ramping back up. Great! So I wrote the second article they wanted, even though I didn’t love the idea (have you ever seen me write an article about mask mandates before? no!), and we even after iterated over a couple of drafts together to include the talking points that they wanted me to include.

Then they ghosted me again.

So I am publishing the second tabloid-tier op-ed on my Substack as well.

Two days ago, the White House announced that quadruple-vaxxed Jill Biden had tested positive for COVID for at least the second time. That same day, President Joe Biden was seen conspicuously wearing a face mask for the first time in months. 

“Since the President was with the first lady yesterday,” announced White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “he will be masking while indoors and around people, in alignment with CDC guidance. As has been the practice in the past, the President will remove his mask when sufficiently distant from others indoors.”
