Ottawa's Jussie Smollett Moment
MPP Joel Harden says that he was "punched in the face" because he was standing up "for queer and trans youth". Evidence shows he actually just scratched his own face.
Canada has one of the most closed-off media landscapes on the planet: 69% of all media revenue goes to just 6 media corporations (Bell, Telus, Rogers, Shaw, Quebecor, & CBC); 90% of all telecommunications revenue goes to just 3 companies (Rogers, Bell, & Telus); and 90% of the online advertising market goes to just 3 companies (Google, Facebook, & Amazon).
Everything in Canada is a cartel, from the media, to maple syrup, to dairy.
An effective cartel is adept at erecting barriers to entry.
The Canadian media successfully did this in 2021 by introducing the concept of a "Qualified Canadian Journalism Organization" (QCJO). Every journalist in Canada needs a license now. You need permission from the government to report on the government.
This QCJO license is valuable because it is tied to the Canadian journalism labor tax credit, a subsidy that pays for 25% of every journalist's salary. This 25% subsidy is an addition to Trudeau funding the digital news subscription tax credit, the Canada Periodical Fund, the Canada Media Fund, and a $600 million bailout for the media industry in 2020. When you add up all the various subsidies and handouts, more than half of every legacy media journalist's salary is paid directly by Canadian taxpayers.
Today’s story began on June 9th when notable conservative figure, Chris Elston, known widely as “Billboard Chris”, arrived in Ottawa to protest against the administering of puberty blockers to children. He was accompanied by Josh Alexander, a 16-year-old conservative wunderkid who became famous by voicing opposition to transgender ideology in his Catholic school in Ottawa.
Their anti-puberty-blocker protest attracted hundreds of angry far-left counter-protesters, leading to a heated and chaotic exchange. Among those in attendance was Joel Harden, a MPP for the New Democratic Party, representing Ottawa Centre since 2018.
Harden bravely tweeted that someone punched him in the face.
However, no video evidence supports this claim, despite the event being live-streamed from multiple angles with hundreds of witnesses.
Here is a video of the incident. Nobody punched him. The video clearly shows him rubbing himself in the face with his own megaphone. It was self-inflicted.
Despite this, Harden has tried to paint himself as a victim of a hate crime.
Ottawa City Councillor Ariel Troster initially supported Harden's claims about the punch in the face:
But later altered her narrative, suggesting that a "smack" caused the megaphone to hit Harden's face.
This narrative was later modified a second time, further muddying the waters.
I really hate this ability to casually lie.
Ariel Troster is a habitual liar — during the Trucker protests, for example, she famously went on CBC and claimed Truckers were trying to set an apartment building on fire. I can’t find a link to her CBC interview with Rosmarie Barton — I think it has been scrubbed from youtube?! — but it happened.
Which brings me to the point of this story: libs are not good people.
If you protest against them, they will threaten to take your children away:
If threatening to take your kids away doesn’t work, they threaten to take your pets:
They have no problem lying and saying that truckers are rapists to justify the invocation of the Emergencies Act. Libs don’t have principles; they have goals, and they will, or say, anything that is needed to achieve those goals.
They will beat the shit out of you if they get a chance.
Canadian legacy didn’t show this video, did they?

Let us return to the issue at hand: Joel Harden's fabrication of a hate crime.
Harden initially made a statement to Yahoo Canada, reaffirming the claim of getting punched in the face.
Harden then issued a revised statement, now indicating that the incident involved a blow to his megaphone, rather than his face. Moving the goalposts.
This statement is especially funny because the women who he claims punched him showed up in his comments to respond.
Paul Champ, a professor of law at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa, is one of Harden’s last remaining defenders.
Note the insult at the end.
This shows you how poisonous this guy is; he couldn’t help but throw in this evil, mocking barb about an older, female, indigenous protesters getting trampled by a horse... for no reason? He thinks this is hilarious.
Champ’s libshit trolling serves to reveal his true character - unprofessional and lacking empathy, a total sociopath, not to mention a shitty lawyer. An assertion of evidence must be followed by actual proof, not avoidance when challenged.
Not surprisingly, this ambulance chaser has ‘He/Him' pronouns in his bio.
A few minutes ago, Twitter added a disclaimer to Harden's tweet, without his consent. Boom. There it is. I have seen hundreds of community notes, and I have not seen them be wrong once.
Yahoo! Canada then updated their story accordingly, reflecting the evolving narrative.
Harden should be fired.
Will Harden be punished?
Not a chance.
It is more likely that Harden will fail upwards and get promoted.
Harden’s boss, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh shared a tweet saying he was proud.
Tomorrow morning is Monday morning.
I believe there is a 99% chance that not only will legacy Canadian media trivialize or ignore this hate crime hoax, they will outright lie about it.
The ball is in your court, legacy media.
Will you report on this story honestly?
Or will you double down on supporting the Canadian Jussie Smollet?
Good piece. There is no reasoning with the Left. For them, it is about power.
Also y’all need to leave Canada.
Great piece ! Just one correction: Jagmeet Singh wouldn’t technically be Hardens boss- Singh is Fed leader, Harden is provincial. This exposes an even bigger issue- blind faith by Singh based on ideology. Looks like the ideology of the NDP is on full display- lying to support a narrative is not acceptable but necessary.
