PEI Government Rejects Protestors' Work Permit Extensions Following Hate Crime Hoax
Two days after I exposed the tent fire hoax…
The National Post picked up the story:
“Contrary to what MP Sean Casey and the protesters appeared to allege, the fire was not the result of hate-filled Canadians reenacting Mississippi Burning, but an accident caused by a mosquito coil.”
MP Sean Casey, who supported the hoaxsters, is now projected to LOSE his seat in the upcoming federal election. CDNprojections 's model shows a 64% chance of a Conservative win in Casey's district:
The PEI protesters remain steadfast in their belief that the incident was arson, still outright dismissing the police’s conclusion that a mosquito coil was to blame.
To be clear: these protesters are accusing Canadians of attempted murder, while also insinuating that the Charlottetown police are corrupt, incompetent, and 'low IQ.'
After I exposed the hoax, the protesters were silent. They left their camp. They left their tent. They left their litter. They did not clean it up.
A couple of days ago, however, the PEI_protest_2024 group triumphantly announced that they are rebranding as the ‘‘United Labour Alliance of Canada,’’ unveiling a sweet new AI-generated bird logo via TikTok:
Their TikTok comments are overwhelmingly abusive, lol:
This newly formed ‘‘United Labour Alliance of Canada’’ then sent a public letter to the minister of workforce begging for extensions:
From the beginning, their stated goal has been to advocate for the 'reform' of Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) policies, which they claim are unjust. They've even linked to this petition in the bio of their Instagram account:
The provincial government responded surprisingly swiftly and decisively to the protesters yesterday, leaving no room for ambiguity with a firm and unequivocal "No." This screenshot update comes directly from their group chat:
After that rejection, a video emerged from yesterday showing them dismantling their encampment.
I texted Singh. I asked if he had any last words.
And so, the saga of the PEI protesters comes to an end.
It’s time to pack up and go home.
I intended to finish the article here, but as I was writing, three new developments came to light…
Update #1
Yesterday, media coverage of this PEI protest got caught in a Russian sting.
New U.S. charges allege that a media company linked to six conservative influencers was a front for a Russian influence operation.
…
Tenet Media was founded by a Canadian right-wing social media influencer named Lauren Chen and her husband Liam Donovon.
…
Tenet Media released a xenophobic 30-minute documentary-style video about international students in Prince Edward Island. The video insinuates the international students have 'gamed Canada’s immigration system' and 'don’t really care about Prince Edward Island.'
Update #2
Last week, a YouTuber released an in-depth investigation into 20 years of corruption within PEI's immigration system.
To ensure it wasn’t also a Russian sting, I researched Spoke Media, the publishers of the video, and found that the creator is an independent YouTuber from Ontario who identifies as an investigative journalist. No funding sources were disclosed.
Update #3
Two days ago, Manitoba did the opposite of PEI, announcing that they would extend permits for their protestors.
The contrast between the two provinces is striking: Manitoba opted for leniency, while PEI maintained a firm stance. I’d like to think that my reporting played a role in guiding PEI toward this more responsible decision.
As a resident of PEI, thank you for chasing this one down.
Knowing your interest in educational malfeasance, you might find the enigma known as UPEI to be interesting. I have only third-hand information regarding financial and other "irregularities" to say the very least. My source described UPEI is being the province's biggest money laundering operation involving a former UPEI President and Premier... and apparently despite being a public university, all aspects of their budget are protected from public disclosure via legislation.
That being said, the Great Enlightenment Buddhist Institute Society (supposedly an arm of Chinese Communist Party https://gebis.org/) might be giving UPEI a run for the title. They keep buying up land and throwing around accusations of racism to anyone who questions.
This is awesome. Thanks for all the work Chris. 👏🤝
