BREAKING: FBI Arrests Mango Markets Exploiter Following Karlstack Investigation
reminder: don't do fraud
Half an hour ago, the news emerged that Avraham Eisenberg, the man who pulled off the biggest bug bounty in the history of cryptocurrency, was arrested by the FBI in Puerto Rico.
Here is the court document which states, “the defendant, did knowingly and intentionally manipulate and attempt to manipulate the price of a commodity in interstate commerce … to wit, EISENBERG engaged in a scheme involving the intentional and artificial manipulation of the price of perpetual futures contracts on a cryptocurrency exchange called Mango Markets.”
Karlstack’s exclusive investigative reporting broke this story wide open, and the blockchain proof provided by my scoop was doubtlessly used by the feds in their investigation.
More details will surely emerge in the days to come, but until then, this 14-page court document is all we have to go on.
Hilariously, the court document shows that Avraham fled to Israel on the day that I doxxed him. He then flew back to Puerto Rico, presumably thinking he was safe, where he was arrested.
