Criminology Professor "Abruptly Leaves" Florida State University Following Karlstack Reporting
Eric Stewart's decades of fraud seem to have caught up with him
Four months ago I published this article:
I ended that article by explaining how professor Eric Stewart’s blatant fraud had gone unpunished for decades, but could finally now be punished because in 2022 Ron DeSantis basically abolished tenure; DeSantis passed higher ed reforms dictating that all tenured professors must undergo a performance review every 5 years & poor performers can be let go. He ended tenure, and now Eric Stewart is the first rotten tenured apple to be booted from Florida academia.
Well, maybe. We don’t really know why Eric Stewart “abruptly left” his tenured/chaired position at Florida State University sometime last month, in March 2023, since Florida State University declined to comment. All we can do is speculate that Eric Stewart’s abrupt departure is probably related to his decades of fraud, as I reported on in my initial article.
The Florida Standard first reported this story three days ago:
A top Florida State University professor whose research focused on race in the criminal justice system abruptly left his post in the wake of years-long allegations of academic fraud … Professor Stewart’s 16-year FSU career appears to have ended, signaled by his abrupt March 2023 absence.
Was he fired? Or did he resign? What’s the story? I will try to get to the bottom of it. If you are an insider, please email me: chrisbrunet@protonmail.com and tell me what happened. I am always on the lookout for tips.
Congrats on exposing a fraudulent commissar. One down, thousands more to go...
