3 months ago, I broke the biggest academic finance scandal of the decade, involving data manipulation by a group of 3 tenured Georgetown professors:

1 month ago, the most junior of the 3 co-authors, Dr. Quan Wen, was scrubbed from the faculty directory:

Now, I can report that Quan Wen has been downgraded from ‘‘associate professor’’ to ‘‘adjunct faculty’’:

Who knows if there are more shoes yet to drop, I think more papers will probably be retracted… but this is a major development... It’s exceedingly rare for tenure to be stripped. It appears that the 2 senior co-authors threw their junior co-author under the bus, as is often the case. I will continue to report on developments as this story unfolds.
