This is why it has frustrated me for decades how the couch sitters rationalize their inaction on these things. When the Cultural Marxists were ginning up these victim narratives. The couch sitters dismiss it and tell themselves it will all go away. But I could see they were just being used as a building block.
As you point out, such ads are against the law in the US but the same result occurs here without explicitly saying this. Perhaps the Canadian approach is preferable in that there is no hypocrisy as to what the hiring university intends to do
