It's quite possible that the CBC article on CBDCs attracted a disproportionate fraction of more right wing commenters due to the subject matter. Most people I've talked to still haven't heard of CBDCs. That said when I explain it to them, people generally react with a hard no.

I'm surprised the government hasn't already astroturfed pressure groups to demand CBDCs be implemented in the name of refugee justice or whatever. Maybe they just don't care at this point. It's not like Canadians can do much, at least through the channels of electoral politics.

"Currency justice" will become a talking point in the near future. Like "climate justice" somehow is today -- what does that term even mean? -- "We're going to bring this climate to justice for its crimes!" But nonsense is a feature, not a bug. In America, our progressive (but very pro-military industrial complex) "Squad" of commie cunt congresswomen will soon be screeching about "currency justice" and demanding CBDC on DEI grounds.

Currency Justice is a thing already in the US. We have mortgage edicts that actually require super-prime lenders to pay a special fee to help subsidize sub-prime mortgages. It’s insane. We’re literally getting punished for having good credit
